How To Become A Nurse Entrepreneur?

What is Entrepreneurship ?

Entrepreneurship is the dynamic process of creating incremental wealth and innovating things of value that have a bearing on the welfare of an entrepreneur.

Who Is a Nurse Entrepreneur?
A Nurse entrepreneur is a person trained as a nurse professionally and uses his/her skill, knowledge, training and expertise as a nurse to create and develop there own business as within or outside the healthcare field through the use of creativity, problem solving and successful investing strategies.

Why should a nurse become an entrepreneur?

These are some of the reasons why Nurses should go into entrepreneur;

1. It will provide civilization in Nursing with an enormous amount of goods and services and

2. It will enhance the growth of the Nursing profession with Foot print on social welfare.

If We MUST achieve our desire goals in Nursing then we should be ready to go into Entrepreneur.

If you live in this great country, there is no reason not to achieve your goals! The only person stopping you is the person in the mirror.

Dont let your past be your future. I prefer to drive my own destiny! Victims need not apply.

Entrepreneurs take the economy and the society; i.e the whole civilization to the state of progress and prosperity.

This is why the Government has no seat for Nurses on the Decision making table outside the Hospital setting,

The government are not investing into the growth of the Economy.

With the numerous professors and Doctorate we have in Nursing, change is still very far from the profession because they all glued to their 8am to 4pm job in the classroom with the hope of increment in salaries.

  • Retirement doesnt begin at some magical age like 65 or 70. It begins when you have enough money to enjoy the life you are dreaming about.

  • Retirement is not an age, it's a financial number.

  • You can be a professor and be miserably poor begging the Government not to retire you because you haven't saved up....

  • Debt is your biggest roadblock to financial security, Debt is not a tool to build wealth

  • Building wealth is not about how much money you make, It is about what you do with that money.

  • Investment is one key tool of acquiring wealth.

You can have 5 PhD and still not be making impact in your community, and still not be rated among the 20 richest people in your village.

But when you invest, it grows over time to a point you can't even stop the growth of your wealth.

Nursing will NEVER grow if we don't learn how to mind our business and invest in our Intellectual Competencies to achieve capacity and developmental mile stone.

I have observed Nurses like to make Excuses., Excuses are the skin of a lie wrapped in a reason.

Note: There is no elevator to success you have to take the stairs.  Zig Ziglar

Owning your own business gives you a sense of freedom and empowerment. You can build things and watch them grow.

At My age, I count myself as one of the most successful man Alive... Success is not rated by your account figure or measured by age but by the amount of freedom you have.

Entrepreneurs make decisions for them, realize their creative visions, and develop lasting relationships with other entrepreneurs, customers, and vendors.

Its a great way to live. Thats why Ive founded so many Businesses.

Thats why I have put together these tips to help you to become more successful.

Being an Entrepreneur connects you to diverse kind of people; it makes you to associate with top officials...

You want to be a successful Entrepreneur....? Follow this simple Rules

I tried it and it works and still working....Everywhere i go to teach on grass root Entrepreneur, i always drop this rules for my students.

1. Get Gritty: (having or showing a lot of courage and determination)

This is ability to keep working when everyone tells you that you should give up. If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you have to be gritty.

Honestly, without hard work and perseverance, youre not going anywhere in the entrepreneurial world.

When i started my business, alot of Nurses discouraged me saying merry you are too young to manage an Hospital.... Haaaaa they will arrest you oooo. At your age how can you manage an Hospital.... Go and set up a chemist shop.... I know you are stubborn.... Only one person stood by me and that person was myself and still myself!

2. Challenge yourself:  If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you have to challenge yourself  No one else is going to push you, so its up to you to do it.

Challenges keep entrepreneurs nimble and on their toes. If youre constantly looking for the next challenge, youll always be prepared for what comes your way. I knew it wasn't going to be easy infact the week i started, some group of police men was arranged to Arrest me... These policemen took me to Yaba Police headquarter that i am a Quack operating illegal Health facility... When i got bailed and settle them, we found out it was a  Nurse that set me up.

This is what really challenges me to say to my Self, Merry if this didn't kill you then it is a plan on the right direction.

3. Be passionate:  If you dont love what you do, dont do it. I truly believe its as simple as that. As an entrepreneur, youre going to have to put in long hours and make sacrifices for your business.

When you are passionate about what you do, putting in the long hours wont feel like a sacrifice anymore.

If you are not passionate about what you do, youre not going to have the motivation to keep going when youre stressed and tired.

Have you ever noticed those entrepreneurs who never seem to get tired? Those entrepreneurs who get that gleam in their eye when they talk about what they do? Yeah, thats passion.
As at yesterday I have been to 12 teaching Hospital in Nigeria, 9 General Hospitals and Countless private Establishment and Universities teaching on Entrepreneur.

Let not add the online teaching because that has become an addict hardly a day i don't take a group on WhatsApp on Entrepreneur.... The day i don't, i feel sick.

Write this down...

Do not go into a Business because your bestie or your Friend is into it.....

4. Take risks: Humans are generally risk-averse, but part of being an entrepreneur is recognizing the risks that you should take.

Successful entrepreneurs take risks. Its part of the job.

Successful entrepreneurs also know which risks taking and which they shouldnt. Learn to recognize the risks that will benefit your business and take them.

Someone said to me Merry i like to start a Business but am Afraid... And i said to the person that is the more reason you should start.... Risk is part of all Business.

Identify the risk attached to your business...

Are you into Foot wears, you should know your client will complain about your foot wear during raining season because water will spoil them....

Or you are into Ankara get ready to For Controversial talk if its original or fake...

The Social market is big, not everyone are your clients learn to Identify time wasters.

Taking risks has a dangerous side, but the opportunities they present often far outweigh the potential dangers.

Learn how to identify which risks are worth taking and youll learn how to be a successful entrepreneur.

I have been a failed Business man as well as a Successful one... My failure in my previous business has given me a clue to manage my current business...

Sometime ago i invested over #3million Naira into cold room business (Frozen food)  due to lack of  Electricity it fails...

5. Trust yourself: If you dont believe in yourself, who will?

Being a successful entrepreneur means that youve learned to listen to your intuition and rely on your wisdom when making decisions.

Your ability to trust and believe in yourself will show your confidence.

People are more likely to follow and trust confident leaders.

6. Reduce fear: Fear stops action. With fear riding on your shoulder, you wont be a successful entrepreneur.

As an entrepreneur, if you let fear be your guide, you wont be able to listen to your intuition, youll be afraid to take the necessary risks, and your judgment will be clouded by emotion.

Remember, fear has to do with your perspective.

My favorite tip for managing fear as an entrepreneur is to do confidence-building exercises.

For me, I like to take a few moments at night to think of the decisions I made that day that had a successful outcome.

Thinking each day about the decisions that you made that benefited you, others, or your business will help you to quickly build your confidence and reduce fear

7. Visualize Goals: When I recommend that entrepreneurs visualize their goals, I dont intend for them to close their eyes and see the goal in front of them.

What I want you to do to visualize your goal is to define it so clearly that its real and tangible.

For example, which of these is more accomplishable?

1) I want to become a successful entrepreneur.

2) I will become a successful entrepreneur by starting a business that solves a problem for the specific niche of my audience.

The second one, right?

When you can clearly articulate and visualize your goal, it becomes more achievable.

8. Whos your customer?: One of the most common reasons that entrepreneurial businesses fail is that there isnt a customer.

If you start a business or make a product but dont know who will buy it, that person might not actually exist. Before you make a financial plan, raise capital, or even choose a name, make sure that theres a customer who would buy your product or use your services.

Without a customer, you dont have a business.

Successful entrepreneurs know who their customers are.

You are making Foot wears... Who are those you are targeting..

9. Network, network, and network: Do your friends know what you sell...? Some of you claim to be doing a Business and your WhatsApp group members don't even know what you sale.....If you belong to one or more WhatsApp group, i see no reason why you shouldn't market your product on the group should you pass through the Right channel.

10. DO YOU HAVE A MENTOR?.  No one is an island..... The road you are passing now, someone has passed it before you. Seek knowledge from that person so you won't fall into the pot holes on the road.

Succeeding in business doesnt require overnight success. In fact, thats largely a myth.

It took me a year to stand on my feet when i started my Business... Now it might take you 6 months, while others 2years...

Persistency is the key to Business building...
